Disney Cruise Line - 2012 Cruises

LAST UPDATE: 1/24/12 - MOST RECENT ADDITIONS ARE IN RED

Some itineraries for 2012 are already on sale, including the summer itineraries for the Disney Fantasy, a brand-new ship that will launch on March 31, 2012. Gold and Platinum Castaway Club members (repeat Disney Cruise Line passengers who have been on 6 or more Disney cruises) were able to start booking the Fantasy sailings on 10/19/10. The public began booking the Fantasy's spring and summer dates on 10/20/10. Most of the rest of the Fantasy's 2012 dates went on sale 2/15/11, but only by phone request; they went on sale online later.

Special itineraries for the Disney Wonder and the Disney Magic and summer Alaska cruises from Seattle for the Disney Wonder were announced on 4/6/11. The special itineraries include, for the first time, cruises out of New York and Galveston. There will also be a special 15-night sailing to Hawaii. Additional standard itinerary sailings for the Disney Wonder, Disney Magic and the Disney Dream, covering most of the remainder of 2012, were also announced. The newly announced itineraries went on sale to Platinum/Gold Castaway Club Members on 4/7/11. These itineraries went on sale to the public on 4/8/11.

On 9/23/11, Disney announced a second 2012 sailing to Hawaii on the Wonder, which departs 10/14/12. On 1/24/12, Disney announced three special December itineraries on the Wonder, including a Panama Canal cruise. Those go on sale to Gold and Platinum Castaway Club Members on 1/25/12 (phone only) and to everyone else on 1/26/12 (online or by phone).

If you are interested in booking a suite, a special itinerary, or a cruise during a popular time period (i.e., Easter break), be aware that these usually sell out very early. You also need to book secret porthole staterooms as early as possible!

Booking the Maiden Voyage of the Disney Fantasy requires a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit per person in all stateroom categories. The sail date of the reservation may not be changed without losing the deposit.

Categories 1-3 (suites) on the Magic and the Wonder, and Concierge Level on the Dream and the Fantasy, will require a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit, but the deposit can be transferred to a different date if your plans change.

For Categories 4-12 on the Magic and the Wonder, and non-Concierge staterooms on the Dream and the Fantasy, the deposit is fully refundable until final payment is due.

If you are interested in booking a 2012 cruise, I recommend you contact Small World Vacations, which offers valuable onboard credits, good toward many onboard activities and extras such as spa treatments, shore excursions or even your bar tab.

Small World Vacations gives you full service, including a personal travel agent you can contact by phone toll-free, and best of all, it costs you nothing to use them!

  • 4-night Bahamian cruises with stops at Nassau and Castaway Cay (4/30/12, 5/14/12)

  • 5-night Bahamian cruises with stops at Key West, Nassau and Castaway Cay (4/20/12, 4/25/12, 5/4/12, 5/9/12, 5/18/12)

  • 6-night Western Caribbean cruise from Port Canaveral with stops at Grand Cayman, Cozumel and Castaway Cay (3/24/12)

  • 5-night sailings from New York to Canada, with stops at Halifax, Nova Scotia and Saint John, New Brunswick (6/10/12, 6/17/12, 7/8/12, 7/15/12, 8/5/12, 8/12/12, 9/2/12, 9/7/12, 9/12/12)

  • 7-night cruises from Galveston, TX to the Western Caribbean, stopping at Grand Cayman, Costa Maya and Cozumel (9/22/12, 9/29/12, 10/6/12, 10/13/12, 10/20/12, 10/27/12, 11/3/12, 11/10/12, 11/17/12, 11/24/12, 12/1/12, 12/8/12)

  • 6-night cruises from Galveston, TX to the Western Caribbean, stopping at Grand Cayman and Cozumel (12/15/12, 12/29/12)

  • 8-night cruise from Galveston, TX to the Western Caribbean, stopping at Key West, Costa Maya and Grand Cayman (12/21/12)

  • Presumably there will be a repositioning cruise when the ship leaves New York for Galveston (9/17/12-9/22/12), but specifics have not been announced.

  • Probably the repositioning cruise when the ship moves from Florida to New York (5/23/12-5/25/12) will not carry paying passengers, as there would not be enough time to stop at a foreign port: due to the Passenger Vessel Services Act of 1886, foreign-flagged vessels cannot transport passengers directly between US ports without making a stop in a foreign port. Disney Cruise Line ships are Bahamian flagged.

If you are interested in booking a 2012 special itinerary on the Disney Magic, I recommend you contact Small World Vacations, which offers valuable onboard credits, good toward many onboard activities and extras such as spa treatments, shore excursions or even your bar tab.

Small World Vacations gives you full service, including a personal travel agent you can contact by phone toll-free, and best of all, it costs you nothing to use them!
