Locations for Disney World, Disneyland and Aulani

Walt Disney World (Orlando, Florida)

Thrifty is located on airport property in Orlando. You can just walk right out to the garage to pick up your car.

Disneyland (Anaheim, California)

Thrifty is located on airport property in Orange County, CA (SNA).

Thrifty has a regular shuttle at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

Disney’s Aulani Resort (Oahu, Hawaii)

Thrifty is located off property at the Honolulu airport (HNL). You’ll take a shuttle ride to the rental car lot.

“Wild Car”

Thrifty has an option called “Wild Car” that assigns you a random vehicle type at the time of pick-up. (Like a “wild card,” get it?) You are guaranteed to get at least a low-mileage, new-model compact vehicle with at least 5 seatbelts and room for at least two pieces of luggage. Beyond that, there is no guarantee what you’ll be driving. If you don’t mind taking your chances, the “Wild Car” option may save you some money.

To try the “Wild Car” option, select “Wild Car” as your car class when booking with Thrifty. Either select the “Specialty” car class on step 1 or choose the Specialty/Wild Car class on step 2. Use Promo Code WILD. Thanks to Paul D for info.

Additional Drivers

Be aware that most Thrifty locations, including the Orlando airport location, charge a premium on additional drivers, even if they are a spouse or domestic partner. Typically the cost is about $10 per day.

Discounts, Codes and Coupons

Please note: Thrifty is owned by the same company as Dollar. Dollar is the “business” brand and Thriftyis the “Leisure” (tourist) brand.In general, I recommend that you rent from Dollar, since there is usually no difference in price and Dollar sometimes has slightly higher-end cars. However, if you really want to rent from Thrifty, please see the Dollar page for additional discount codes, as many of the current promo codes for Dollar will also work at Thrifty.

All of the codes below have been tested and were working at the time they were posted here. However, Thrifty, like all rental car companies, has blackout dates. If they are already heavily booked for a particular date, they will black out all coupons for that location. A limited number of vehicles are available at these promotional rate at participating locations.

If the codes aren’t working for you, you’re probably traveling on a date that is blacked out for the location you want, or all of the available cars at that rate are sold out. Try a different rental car company, or if you have flexibility, try different dates or a different location.
