Discounts at Disneyland Resort Paris

LAST UPDATE: 1/1/10 - MOST RECENT ADDITIONS ARE IN RED

Most prices below are in UK Pounds or Euros.
See a currency calculator such as xe.com to get an idea of current exchange rates.

Disneyland® Resort Paris (formerly EuroDisney) consists of Disneyland Park; Walt Disney Studios Park; six Disney-operated resort hotels: Disneyland Hotel, Hotel New York, Newport Bay Club, Sequoia Lodge, Hotel Cheyenne and Hotel Santa Fe; a campground called the Davy Crockett Ranch; and Disney Village, a shopping and dining district similar to Downtown Disney at the US resorts.

I must admit that I was very surprised to learn how reasonably priced the packages at Disneyland Resort Paris can be. In general the prices are nowhere near what you'd pay to visit Walt Disney World. And remember, the package prices include your passes and breakfast!

In addition, Disneyland Resort Paris offers various seasonal discounts on its hotel rooms, tickets and vacation packages. I list any current offers below.

Special Events

Disney Halloween Festival is offered annually. (In 2009, it was 3 October - 1 November.) The park is decorated throughout and Frontierland is transformed to Halloweenland.

  • On 31 October only, there is a special late night party for Halloween, with a DJ, fireworks, shows and parades. Select attractions will be open and guests may wear costumes. A separate ticket is required for this event.

  • In 2008, Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party was offered at Disneyland Resort Paris. During this separately-ticketed event, Fantasyland was dressed for Halloween, select attractions were open and Disney characters appeared in Halloween garb. The party was offered from 8:00-11:00 pm on select dates in October.

Disney’s Fairytale Christmas is offered annually. (In 2009, it was 8 November - 6 January.) The park is decorated throughout and special parades and shows are offered.

Christmas season festivities typically include:

  • Santa Claus’ Village — Children are invited to enter Santa’s winter wonderland to meet the man himself and pose for a memorable photo. What’s more, in the heart of the village children can find the Santa Claus Post Office where they can post their Christmas wish-lists in time for a Christmas Eve delivery. And with the help of a little Disney magic, the children will receive Santa’s response sent directly to their homes!

  • Mickey’s Magical Christmas Dinner — Guests can join the Disney Characters for a huge Christmas buffet feast, complete with sparkling lights and sing-along music that will make hearts warm and spirits soar!

  • Enchanted Candleabration — Mickey and his friends invite guests to Central Plaza for an unforgettable evening ceremony held in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle, which transforms into a glistening ice palace

  • Disney’s Fantillusion — Princes, Princesses and other Disney characters emerge on Main Street, U.S.A. at nightfall to host a magnificent parade where Disney’s best-loved fairytales are retold

  • Santa Claus, VIP guest of Disney’s Once Upon a Dream Parade — Santa Claus appears at the end of this magical procession to wish everyone a Merry Christmas

  • Minnie’s Jolly Holidays Show — Minnie Mouse, along with her Chorus Boys and Girls, invites guests to join her in the celebration of Christmas as she hosts a fantastic show with many jolly surprises

  • Meet Goofy Santa — Lovable Goofy dressed as Santa Claus in his sleigh will welcome children for a souvenir photo

  • Belle’s Christmas Village — With picturesque taverns and snow-covered stalls, Fantasyland transforms into an authentic medieval village at Christmastime

  • Mickey’s Winter Wonderland — Mickey and his pals put on their ice skates for a winter spectacular the whole family will love

  • Christmas at Disney Village — Disney Village will be the home of a traditional Christmas Market this year

Packages

All hotel stays at Disneyland Paris include Continental breakfast (pastries, yogurt, cold cuts, sliced cheeses, juice, coffee). While you can book just "room plus breakfast" and buy your tickets separately, you generally won't save much, if any, money by doing so.

Disneyland Paris won't sell US residents a one-night package directly. (You can book a single night package at the Disneyland Paris hotels through Travelocity, though. Search for hotels in Marne-la-Valle, France.)

Most people will want to buy at least a Classic Package, which consists of at least two nights' accommodations, daily breakfast, and unlimited entrance to the theme parks, or one of the package specials that run from time to time.

The standard Classic Package includes:

  • at least 2 nights / 3 days of accommodation in a standard room in one of the seven Disney hotels

  • Unlimited admission* to both Disney Theme Parks for the entire duration of your stay (day of arrival and day of departure included)

  • Daily breakfast** at your hotel (can be upgraded to a character breakfast at selected locations, for an extra fee)

* Except for special separately-priced evening special events such as the Enchanted Christmas Ball and the Carnival Party.

** The composition of the breakfast varies according to the hotel category. At Disney's Davy Crockett Ranch campground, you take your continental breakfast back to your cabin.

Booking Your Disneyland Resort Paris Holiday

Booking from the UK

Disneyland Resort Paris now has a good online booking system for UK residents if you prefer to book your own holiday package.

Alternatively, UK residents can book by phone at 08448 008 898.

Booking from the US and Canada

Be aware that Disneyland Resort Paris does not market itself to US or Canadian visitors and therefore does not make it terribly easy for Americans to book, find a good deal or arrange for any "extras" or deviations from standard packages. However, there are quite a few options for booking:

  • Online through Expedia.co.uk, which usually offers any current package specials that are available in the UK (often better than US specials). Your purchase will be in UK pounds, so use a site such as xe.com to figure out the exchange rate. Note that you may need to contact your credit card company prior to booking: for security purposes, some companies block international purchases unless you notify them in advance.

  • You might be able to book by phone through the UK number (011 44 8448 008 898). They may be able to sell you the often-more-attractive UK packages. If you try it, let me know the results.

  • Through a travel agency that specializes in Disney travel. Several Small World Vacations agents, including the owner, have personally visited Disneyland Paris. Use their contact form and indicate in the comments box that you want to book a Disneyland Paris vacation. Note that as a US-based agency, they can only book the offers that are marketed to US residents.

  • You can book regular priced packages through Travelocity (US site). Search for hotels in Marne-la-Valle, France.

  • Online through the international version of the Disneyland Paris site. You will only be able to book offers marketed to US/Canada residents.

  • Call the resort in France. There are English-speaking operators to take your booking. From the US, the number is: (011) 33 1 60 30 60 81. Note that the reservations opening hours are limited and they are 6 hours later than EST and 9 hours later than PST. If you are in the US, they will only book the offers that are marketed to US residents.

Package Specials

Please note: the specials below are for UK residents. The UK is the primary market for Disneyland Paris and the UK sales office offers the best deals. Links in the package specials below all go to the UK site.

The package offers for US residents are limited and usually have bigger restrictions, such as longer length of stay, etc. US travel agents cannot book UK packages. However, there are ways around this. See above for details.

Non-Disney Hotels

In addition to the official Disney-operated hotels, there are other hotels that are nearby but not owned by Disney. Disneyland Resort Paris offers packages that include accommodations in its official Partner Hotels, but it is often cheaper to book them via the web sites of the hotel owners. Obviously if you book directly with the hotel, you'll have to buy tickets separately.

Recommended hotel:

  • Marriott's Village d'lle-de-France - While this is not an official "Partner Hotel," MouseSavers.com readers Danilo & Ann V write, "...we would highly recommend it. It is a Marriott Vacation Club Resort, but they also rent the villas as you would a room at any Marriott hotel." They report that the grounds and the units are beautiful, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and the resort has a free shuttle that goes back and forth to Disneyland and the train station. The resort also offers activities for children and adults, as well as some for the whole family.

The official Partner Hotels and their web sites are:

  • Radisson SAS Hotel at Disneyland Resort Paris - Great for golfers, as it is located on Golf Disneyland. This hotel is adjacent to the Disney parks and Disneyland Resort Paris Convention Centre.

  • Thomas Cook's Explorers Hotel - Themed hotel that is supposedly the home of Sir Archibald de Bacle, the "famous" (fictional) explorer. Apparently Sir Archie spent a lot of time at sea; the hotel decor has a nautical motif.

  • Kyriad Hotel - Warning: this hotel chain's web site can be difficult to navigate and it provides minimal information about the location. To locate the correct property, search for a hotel in Magny Le Hongre.

  • Dream Castle Hotel - This castle-themed hotel is quite upscale. There are some family rooms with a king bed plus bunk beds. All public areas are non-smoking.

  • Magic Circus Hotel - An official Partner Hotel. This former Holiday Inn has been rethemed with a circus motif. It is a non-smoking hotel.

  • Hotel L'Élysée Val d'Europe - A bit further away from the parks than some other hotels in the area, but offers shuttle service.

  • Adagio City Aparthotel - This company rents out apartment-style accommodations, ranging from studios through 3/4-room apartments.

Advance Purchase Discounts

  • Disney Store - If you are in Paris before you go to Disneyland Resort Paris, check on the ticket prices at the Disney Store on the Champs-Elysées. They frequently offer special deals.

  • Online Advance Purchase - If you live in the UK, you can pre-order tickets at a discount. This offer is available only in advance through disneylandparis.com (click on "Special Offers Tickets"). The cheapest online special offers are for dated tickets, meaning the ticket will be valid only for a specific date you choose in advance.

Paris Visite Pass Discount

MouseSavers.com reader Scott H reports that the Paris Visite pass, which is a Metro/RER train pass, gives you a 20% discount for a 1 Day / 2 Park pass (admission to both Disneyland and the Walt Disney Studios) at the gate at Disneyland Paris. He reports that he bought his Paris Visite pass and used it to get the theme park ticket discount with no problem in June 2009.

Scott points out that "the pass has two parts - the actual ticket and a sleeve holder that comes with it. You’ll need to sign and date both parts and present both for the discount. There is one discount per ticket so make sure everyone has both parts of the ticket when you go."

The Paris Visite pass also offers many other tourist discounts. You’ll need the Zones 1-6 pass be able to take the train to Disneyland. (Disneyland is the last stop on the line.)

Combined RER/Disneyland Paris Pass

The combined RATP (RER train from Paris) / Disneyland Resort Paris ticket package consists of a roundtrip train ticket from Paris to the Disney Parks as well as a one-day pass to either Disneyland Park or Walt Disney Studios Park. You can buy this pass in advance through this link.

Annual Passports

Be sure to see below for Annual Passport information and discounts!

Half Board Meal Plans

Half Board Meal Plans offer up to a 15% saving in a variety of restaurants in the whole Resort. They are pre-paid meal vouchers valid at a variety of restaurants throughout the Resort for packages bought at a Disney Hotel (except the Disneyland Hotel). They're designed to help you budget your stay with savings of up to 15%, and give you the peace of mind that everything is pre-paid.

You get one voucher per night stayed (for example a 3-night stay would include 3 meal vouchers per person) and each voucher is good for a lunch or dinner. Since breakfast is already included in the room rate, this gives you "half board."

You can upgrade your Half Board Plan to gourmet restaurants, the legendary Disney Character Dining, and Buffalo Wild West Dinner Show.

For full details, click here.

Disney Village Restaurant Offers

There is a web page devoted to offers for the Disney Village on the French version of the Disneyland Resort Paris site. It is not available in English. If you can read French at all, it is worth looking at this page, as there are frequently valuable offers for the Disney Village restaurants, such as 20% off discount cards, free parking when you spend a certain amount at various restaurants, and more. (If you can't read French at all, you can try a translator such as Babel Fish, but it's likely to produce gibberish.)

Parking

Normally the daily parking fee at the theme parks is €8 for a regular car.

  • Parking is FREE for all guests staying at the Disney Hotels, Disney's Davy Crockett Ranch, Val de France Hotels or Hotel L'Élysée Val d'Europe. Show your room key or Resort ID on entry.

  • Fantasy and Dream Annual Passholders get FREE parking.

  • Francilien Annual Passholders may purchase an annual parking pass for €24.

Train from Paris

You can take the RER direct from Paris to the Disneyland Resort Paris station. It's a super easy way to visit the Disney Parks if you're staying in Paris. You can buy your RER ticket in advance through this link.

Annual Passport Discounts

There are three types of Annual Passports at Disneyland Resort Paris: Francilien, Fantasy and Dream. All three offer various discounts in addition to admission. Those discounts are good enough that they may justify buying one Annual Passport for someone in your party, even if this will be a one-time vacation at Disneyland Resort Paris.

Unfortunately the Annual Pass information on the official Disneyland Resort Paris web site is hard to find and apparently only listed in French. The best resource in English for all the details on Annual Passes is an unofficial site called DLRP Magic. This site also has information about how to purchase an Annual Pass.

Be sure to see below for information on additional savings when buying Annual Passports for multiple family members!

Family Discounts on Annual Passports

You can save 20% when you buy annual passports for a family of five or more. The passports must all be purchased from a ticket booth at the Disneyland Resort Paris theme parks at the same time, for persons in the same family who are all living at the same address. You must present ID for all members to prove that you are the same family.

MouseSavers.com reader Amy O writes (in July 2007): "Disneyland Paris is currently running a promotion where kids under 7 are free. The Disney rep at the ticket counter at the park could not honor the free one-day pass for kids since we didn't stay at a Disney hotel, but instead offered free annual passes for our 2 kids under 7 if we purchased adult annual passes at any level. We were originally going to buy one-day/one-park tickets for our family (46 euros/adult and 38 euros/child) and instead purchased 2 adult basic annual passes (89 euros each with some blackout dates) that are good at both Disneyland and the Paris Studios park for a year and received 2 kids passes free!" I'm not sure if this is standard policy or if Amy just got lucky. In any case, it's worth inquiring!

MouseSavers.com reader Marcus reports in May 2008, "We saw your site a few days ago before going to Disneyland Paris and saw your note regarding Amy O’s free child passes. We bought annual passes last year and were going to do the same this year. We told the rep. we wanted 3 passes (one for each of myself, my wife and our 3 year old son [who was free last year]). I mentioned there was an offer on whereby under 7s are free (referring to the hotel offer but not mentioning hotels as we weren’t in one of theirs) and she immediately said yes there was and that his pass was free and gave him the same pass as my wife which was a more expensive one – mine was just the cheapest pass as we can use hers for merchandise discounts and car parking etc., we didn’t need 2 of these. She did not, however, mention this until I did so it is possible this is a standard offer if you ask for it. So, thanks for this tip and it may be worth updating this on your site."

Stockholder Discounts

Stockholders in Euro Disney SCA (the company that owns Disneyland Resort Paris) can join the Shareholder's Club, which provides an extensive list of discounts including 15% off most tickets and Annual Passes, 10% off hotel rooms, 15% off at most table-service restaurants in the parks and hotels, 15% merchandise discounts and more.

Each morning from 9 am to noon, Shareholders Club members can quietly start their visit with a light Continental breakfast at "Salon Mickey," at the entrance of Disneyland Park. Members are also invited to private events such as film screenings at the theme parks.

If you own at least 20 shares of Euro Disney SCA, a two-year membership in the Shareholder's Club is free; if you own at least 5, but less than 20 shares, the cost is €30 for a two-year membership. (Note that as of 12/3/07, the stock was consolidated so that 100 shares became 1 share, making 5 or 20 of the new shares equivalent to 500 or 2000 of the old shares.) The stock is sold on the Paris and Brussels stock exchanges under ticker EDL.PA and can be purchased through many US brokers. Some discount brokers don't carry it.

NHS Discounts

MouseSavers.com reader Simon C reports, "Anyone who works for the UK National Health Service (NHS) can use the site nhsdiscounts.com. On this site you can get a 50% discount up to the end of June 2009, and use the Kids under 7 stay and play free offer."

Trip Reports

  • My friends Ann and Danilo V wrote a travel blog about their experiences with taking their 5 children to Europe in Summer 2007. They visited Disneyland Resort Paris in addition to independent travel through France, Switzerland, Italy and Spain as well as a Disney Mediterranean cruise (10 nights roundtrip from Barcelona) followed by a 14-night Transatlantic cruise on the Disney Magic. To read the Disneyland Resort Paris portion of their blog, start here.

  • MouseSavers.com reader Kevin M sent this short report of his visit in summer 2006:

"I recently returned from Disneyland Paris where my wife and I spent 6 days on property. We used it as our base and traveled out from there. We had an excellent time.

In case you are not aware, the Sante Fe and Cheyenne hotels have no air conditioning. The New York has circulating air, but it does not cool the room. The other three have A/C in the rooms only. The lobbies and hallways are not air conditioned in any of the hotels, except maybe the Disneyland Hotel. We found this out when we checked in at the Santa Fe on a 90 degree day. There are not any screens on the windows either and they do have bugs. We quickly upgraded to the Newport Bay Club.

The best way to get to Disney from the airport is the shuttle bus which is advertised on the Disneyland Paris website. It's 16 euros per person and drops you right at your hotel. The train is cheaper, but much more inconvenient and less direct."

  • Click here to read an extensive trip report, with photos, written by my husband and me about our April 2003 trip to Paris and Disneyland Paris.
