Southern California Multi-Attraction Tickets and Passes

LAST UPDATE: 3/17/08 - MOST RECENT ADDITIONS ARE IN RED

If you're planning to visit multiple attractions in Southern California, there are some multi-attraction passes that are worth considering:San Diego's Fabulous Four Combo, GO San Diego Card and Southern California CityPass.

San Diego 3-For-1 Pass

The San Diego 3-For-1 Pass includes 5 days of unlimited admission to San Diego Zoo, San Diego Wild Animal Park and SeaWorld San Diego. It's a great value at $107 for adults, $77 for kids (ages 3-9).

San Diego's Fabulous Four Combo

The Fabulous Four Combo includes one day of admission to San Diego Zoo, San Diego Wild Animal Park, LEGOLAND California and SeaWorld San Diego. At the gate it costs $184 for adults, $142 for kids (ages 3-9). Consecutive visits are not required.

ARES Travel offers a discounted price for the Fabulous Four Combo
of $165.60 for adults and $127.80 for children, plus a $1 per ticket convenience fee.

GO San Diego Card

The Go San Diego Card gives you unlimited admission to over 45 San Diego attractions, museums and tours, including LEGOLAND California, San Diego Zoo, San Diego Wild Animal Park, Knott's Soak City Water Park, Belmont Park, Reuben H. Fleet Science Center (with IMAX movie), Birch Aquarium, San Diego Harbor Excursions and lots more.

The GO San Diego Card comes in 1, 2, 3, 5, or 7-day increments. The card is activated the first time you use it at a participating attraction. It costs:

1-day Adult (13+) $54
1-day Child (3-12) $44
2-day Adult (13+) $77
2-day Child (3-12) $67
3-day Adult (13+) $115
3-day Child (3-12) $106
5-day Adult (13+) $149
5-day Child (3-12) $119
7-day Adult (13+) $169
7-day Child (3-12) $139

The Go San Diego Card will probably save you money if you plan to do a lot of major attractions, boat excursions and bus tours in a short time, but be sure to check on regular prices and generally available discounts first. Many of the museums and walking tours that are included are normally quite inexpensive anyway. You may find it's a better deal to purchase admissions separately. Thanks to Divya for info.

Southern California CityPass

The 2008 Southern California CityPass costs $247 for adults, $199 for kids (ages 3-9). This pass bundles admission to Disneyland plus three other major attractions, and is valid for 14 days. First day of use must occur between 1/3/08 and 1/5/09. It includes:

Buying in Person

The Southern California CityPass can be purchased at Disneyland or any of the other attractions included in the pass.

Some Costco stores offer the Southern California CityPass at great prices. Oddly, it is not being sold in Southern California stores, according to several reader reports. However, readers have reported seeing CityPass for sale in Hawaii, Utah, Colorado and Washington Costco stores. If you are interested, call your local Costco to check on availability. At Costco you'll pick up a big plastic package off the shelf. After making your purchase, you must trade the package at the service counter for the ticket(s).

Buying Online

You can also buy the Southern California CityPass online at:

  • ARES Travel - offers a small discount, pick up tickets at any Disneyland main entrance ticket window

  • CityPass web site - full price plus $2 handling charge per ticket

  • Costco.com - offers a very good discount and you don't even have to be a Costco member to buy through their site. (Non-members pay a 5% surcharge, however.) There is a shipping charge when ordering from Costco.com.

  • Disneyland.com - full price, FREE shipping or pick up tickets at any Disneyland main entrance ticket window

  • Universal Studios - full price. Print@Home ticketing is FREE. If you purchase your Southern California CityPass using Print@Home ticketing, your ticket must be redeemed FIRST at Universal Studios Hollywood, where you will receive your tickets to the other attractions.

Should you decide to upgrade your 2008 CityPass to a Disneyland Annual Pass, you'll be credited $189 for an adult ticket, $159 for a child ticket.

Thanks to Darkbeer for info.
