Why We Like It

Hilton Vacation Club Grande Villas Orlando is a casual and relaxed-feeling, family-friendly resort conveniently located just off Apopka-Vineland Road (SR535) in Orlando, Florida. It’s just an 8 minute drive to Disney Springs, 11-15 minutes to the four main Disney World theme parks, 9 minutes to SeaWorld or 15 minutes to Universal Orlando. New to MouseSavers Preferred Hotels, this resort offers 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom fully-furnished condominium-style suites with full kitchens that give you plenty of room to spread out, and the ability to cook or prepare your own meals. The 2- and 3- bedroom suites easily suit large parties and families. Plus this relatively small resort offers tons of fun outdoor games and activities to occupy all of your vacation downtime, and it’s very budget friendly!

The seven 5-story villa towers that make up Grande Villas surround a lovely large courtyard that includes many of the resort’s amenities. It’s a short walk from your condo to enjoy the resort’s two heated swimming pools, bocce ball, mini-golf, playground, table tennis and more. The courtyard also includes the resort’s convenience market, deli, pizza place and coffee shop, next to poolside outdoor dining. Parking and roadways are located behind the villa buildings, which makes the resort interior feel private and very pedestrian friendly. Once you’ve settled in to your suite with all the comforts of home, you can kick back and relax, and know there’s something for everyone, and everything you need to enjoy your downtime from the hustle and bustle of the parks. 

Hilton Vacation Club by Hilton Grand Vacations is the vacation-ownership property arm of Hilton Hotels and also provides standard hotel services. 

All 2-bedroom suites sleep up to 6 guests, and offer a full 1,273 to 1,329 square feet of living space. The large primary bedroom opens into the living room with a separate entrance to the balcony or patio. The guest room has two twin-size beds and the living room has a queen-size sofa bed. Two-bedroom suites have two bathrooms; primary bedrooms include a generously sized bathroom with a large soaking tub and separate shower. The guest bathroom includes a standard tub shower. Each two-bedroom unit includes a fully-equipped kitchen and in-suite washer and dryer.  

All 1-bedroom suites sleep up to 4 guests, but we’d recommend no more than 2 for these much smaller 400 square feet units. There is one king-size bed in the bedroom and a double-sized sleeper sofa in the combination kitchen/dining/sitting room. The bathroom is just off the bedroom, and includes a roman tub and shower. The kitchen is small, but adequate for light meals. The 1-bedroom unit does not have an in-suite washer and dryer, but free washers and dryers are available in each building. 

Every 2-bedroom suite is next to a 1-bedroom suite with lock-off doors. Three-bedroom suites combine both suites to create an extra large unit with two kitchens, and sleep up to 8 guests. If you’re traveling with a large family or group you may find that two kitchens make breakfast and morning coffee a lot easier for everyone.  

Every 1, 2- or 3-bedroom suite includes a well-appointed and comfortable living room with a pull-out queen-size sofa bed, a separate dining area, screened lanai or balcony, and a fully equipped kitchen. All suites include:

Bedrooms are pleasantly furnished and feature beds with Hilton’s signature white 250 thread count luxurious bedding. All suites are 100% non-smoking. There are designated smoking areas in several outdoor locations around the resort. 

If you are used to staying in a standard hotel room, you will find that the amenities of a condominium style suite make your stay even more enjoyable. Suites give you space to spread out, bedroom privacy, and the ability to prepare your own food. Using real plates and silverware feels more civilized and relaxing than eating pizza perched on the edge of a hotel bed. Combining the comforts of home with the atmosphere of a luxurious resort just makes vacationing less stressful. At Grande Villas the cost is about the same as a moderate hotel, but you get much more.

Dining Options

Orlando Pizza and Deli is the resort’s poolside grocery store, deli, pizza place and Starbucks coffee shop all in one. The market is open from 7 am to 12 am (midnight). Breakfast is served from 7 am to 11 am, and lunch and dinner are served all day until 11:30 pm. The deli offers a number of reasonably priced hot breakfast choices such as scrambled eggs with bacon and hash browns, omelets, waffles, pancakes and french toast. Prices range from $4 – $11. Lunch and dinner fare includes buffalo wings, burgers, wraps and sandwiches, salads and appetizers, ranging from $8 – $12. Pizzas start at around $12. View the full deli and pizza menus here. 

Adjacent to the market is the outdoor Tiki Bar, which is open between 12 pm (noon) and 11:30 pm, with a daily happy hour. It offers a relaxed, casual atmosphere with outdoor seating, and a full bar with beer, wine and specialty cocktails.

The market has a few gifts and sundries as well as snacks, some staples such as cereal, milk and a selection of soft drinks, wine and beer — but it if you are looking to stock up on any serious groceries you may want to drive to the nearby Winn-Dixie (11957 Apopka Vineland) or Publix Super Market at Town Center (11055 Daryl Carter Parkway). 

Numerous restaurants and shops are close by, less than 5 minutes away, just off 535, Palm Parkway, and other neighboring streets.

Transportation

Having a rental car is a good idea when staying at Grande Villas. The resort does offer shuttle transportation to the Walt Disney World Transportation Center, included in nightly resort fee. From the transportation center you can get a Disney monorail or bus to the other Walt Disney World parks and resorts. You’ll need to contact the Tickets & Transportation Desk 24 hours in advance for reservations. Transportation to Universal and SeaWorld is available for a small fee, but the times and drop off points are not optimal. Driving yourself will be significantly more convenient. It’s just an 8 minute drive to Disney Springs, 11-15 minutes to the four main Disney World theme parks,, depending on which park you are going to. The resort is about 15-20 minutes from Universal Orlando, and just 11 minutes from SeaWorld.

Grande Villas is an excellent choice if you are visiting the parks for more than 2 or 3 days and want to be in an unpretentious family-friendly resort with plenty to do, and have the room to spread out and the ability to cook or prepare your own meals. The relaxed atmosphere adds to the ‘home away from home’ feel, and overall, we believe the this resort offers exceptionally good value for the cost.

You Should Also Know

Because Grande Villas is a Hilton Grand Vacations ownership property, you may be asked at check-in if you are interested in hearing about the HGV Ownership program. If you are not interested, “no thank you” is all you need to say; they will not ask again. If you are interested in ownership, you will be asked to attend a sales presentation, often in exchange for a gift of some kind. Presentations can last anywhere from one hour to several hours depending on your interest. You are not obligated in any way to attend a sales presentation.

In an effort to respect your space, housekeeping will only be provided on request. Additional amenities (linens, toiletries) are available on request. 

When comparing Grande Villas to other vacation ownership resorts and rates, keep in mind that many vacation ownership properties do not include housekeeping. Some charge a fee of as much as $60/day for room cleaning! The MouseSavers rates at Grande Villas include housekeeping. Also, parking is FREE, and resort fees of $20/day + tax are reduced to $10/day + tax for MouseSavers guests. The resort fee includes: guest internet access; sports equipment (tennis, basketball, bocce ball, table-tennis, shuffle boards, cornhole); barbecue equipment; mini golf; shuttle service to select theme parks; board games & lending library, and self-parking for 1 car.
