Unfortunate News About MouseSavers-Exclusive Hertz Codes

In late June 2021, Hertz increased their rates for multiple retail discount programs, including the MouseSavers programs, without warning, and raised rates retroactively for existing bookings. 

Hertz did not give us any notice about this change, either before or after they did it. We found out from alert readers who saw their reservation go up in price and contacted us to let us know. Over the course of multiple phone calls and emails with Hertz executives, we were able to convince them to increase the discount off their standard rates considerably from what they originally had planned, but they were unwilling to restore the original rates for existing reservations.

If you are holding a Hertz reservation using one of our discount codes, our advice is to start looking for a better deal. For some areas (Hawaii in particular), cars are scarce, and you may not be able to find a better deal. If you can’t find anything better, continue checking all the way up until you leave for vacation – people cancel all the time. Just be aware that rates are very high, pretty much everywhere.
