Easy Way to Save on Your Disney Cruise!

The travel agency I personally recommend here on MouseSavers.com, Small World Vacations, offers an onboard credit of up to $200 when you book through them. Your onboard credit is good toward many onboard activities and extras such as spa treatments, shore excursions or even your bar tab!

Plus, this onboard credit offer is on top of any other discounts for which you may qualify, such as early booking discounts and onboard credits from Disney.

In my experience, the travel agents at Small World Vacations are great at finding the best fares. They know all the tricks that will save you money. These wonderfully capable agents only sell Disney travel and they know it inside and out.

To learn more, visit the Small World Vacations web site, where you can see full details about the onboard credit offer and request a quote on your cruise vacation.

Small World Vacations Onboard Credit

The travel agency I personally recommend here on MouseSavers.com, Small World Vacations, offers an onboard credit of up to $200 when you book through them. To learn more, visit the Small World Vacations web site, where you can see full details about the onboard credit offer and request a quote on your cruise vacation.

Onboard Booking Discount

If you are going on a Disney cruise and think there is ANY chance you may want to go on another Disney cruise in the future, be sure to book your future cruise while you are still onboard the ship. You will receive a 10% discount and an onboard credit for the future cruise! The onboard credit is usually $200 for a 7-night cruise; $100 for a 3-night or 4-night cruise.

Some additional details:

  • There is a future bookings desk on the ship. Check your daily Navigator for times and location.

  • A deposit is required at the time of booking. The exact amount is based on the room category booked, number of persons in the room and the length of the sailing. Generally it is $200 per person for 3-night or 4-night cruises and $250 per person for 7-night cruises in Categories 4-12. For Categories 4-12, the deposit is fully refundable until full payment is due. The deposit is usually $500 per person for a suite (Categories 1-3). If you reserve a suite, your deposit is nonrefundable, but it can be moved to a different date without penalty.

  • You can later change the dates of the future cruise and still keep the onboard booking discount and onboard credit. There is no penalty for making changes to the reservation. For this reason, some people book random future dates, just to hold the discount.

  • You can transfer your onboard reservation to a travel agency and keep the onboard booking discount and onboard credit. However, you generally will NOT get whatever promotional deal the travel agency may be offering (such as Small World Vacations' onboard credit offer). Also, onboard booking incentives CANNOT be combined with any group discounts organized by a travel agency.

  • You can book as many staterooms for future cruises as you have people in your party. For instance, if you have a family of 5 on the cruise, you can book up to 5 staterooms for future cruises! This is great if you'd like to organize a family reunion cruise, or get a great deal for family and friends.

Travel Agency "Group Blocks" and Group Discounts

Some travel agencies that do a lot of business with Disney Cruise Line are able to hold "group blocks" at the lowest available price offered for that sailing. If you choose one of the group block sailings organized by that agency, you can often save a bunch of money. (You don't have to buy more than one stateroom and you don't have to participate in any group activities -- you simply get the benefit of the agency's buying power.)

Small World Vacations has group block space on selected 7-Night 2009 sailings, at very tempting rates.

Organizing your own group? Disney Cruise Line offers some great incentives for group bookings of 8 staterooms or more. If you are organizing a family reunion cruise or getting a group of friends together for a vacation, you can benefit from these incentives. Contact a Disney Specialist travel agent for details.

Last Minute Expedia Deals on Disney Cruises

Expedia is a possibility for getting good deals on Disney cruises, especially on last-minute (3 months in advance or less) bookings. It appears that Expedia has "blocks" of cabins and sometimes will still have unsold cabins in the less-expensive categories, when Disney is sold out in those categories.

A reader reports that she booked a 3-day Disney cruise through Expedia less than a month in advance and "They were also very helpful in setting up port pickup of my documents and adding my ... on-board credit. This is a good alternative for people who cannot take advantage of early booking due to constantly changing work schedules." Thanks to Monica S for info.
