Why We Like It

The new Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando – Disney Springs® Area is now fully open! Drury Hotels purchased the 2000 Hotel Plaza Boulevard property in 2018. The brand new tower, and a head-to-toe renovation of the existing tower, have created a hotel that feels completely new with a total of 604 rooms. The hotel has a fresh new lobby, spacious king and double queen guest rooms, and two room suites. Completely redone landscaping, and a brand new lakeside pool, kiddie play area and large patio and poolside dining areas are just beyond the lobby. There are several dining areas and more. 

We’ve added the Drury Plaza Hotel to our list of MouseSavers Preferred Hotels because we believe this family-owned Drury Hotel property offers exceptional value, particularly for the Disney Springs area at Walt Disney World. We recently stayed at the hotel, and found that it exceeded our  expectations. The staff are all exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the lobby offers ample comfortable seating with easy access to the front desk, the Kitchen + Bar restaurant, business center and market. Large glass windows and doors look out to the lovely new pool and patio area, and elevators and stairs just off the lobby lead to the Commons area and rooms. You will be amazed at the brand new large saltwater pool, kiddie play area and new indoor and outdoor dining and lounge areas overlooking a sparkling lake.

The rooms are comfortably furnished with quiet blue, grey and warm wood tones, and are equipped with all the amenities you need to enjoy your stay. On the second floor you’ll find the large Commons, where FREE full hot and cold breakfast and Drury’s FREE evening Kickback are served, along with a well-appointed fitness center. Our positive reader reviews and excellent relationship with the same hotel management at the Drury Inn & Suites near Universal Orlando Resort tell us that the new Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando – Disney Springs Area will be a successful and terrific addition to Hotel Plaza Boulevard.  

Opening as an Official Walt Disney World® Hotel, the Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando – Disney Springs Area is conveniently located just half a mile from Disney Springs® where you’ll find numerous restaurants, shopping and entertainment for all ages. The hotel offers complimentary shuttle service to all four Walt Disney World Theme Parks, and as a guest at this Disney Springs area hotel you’ll have access to Walt Disney World’s Early Theme Park Entry program! The Early Theme Park Entry program allows you to enter any of the four main theme parks 30 minutes before official opening. Early Theme Park Entry is available every day. Select attractions, dining and merchandise locations are open in each park during Early Theme Park Entry. 

Unlike most hotels, your room rate at the family friendly Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando includes ZERO resort fees, FREE hot and cold breakfast, FREE evening Kickback (5:30 pm – 7:00 pm) with assorted hot and cold foods, salads and beverages including soft drinks and alcoholic beverages (beer, wine & mixed drinks)*, and FREE Wi-Fi. Rates at this property are moderate, but lower than most of the Hotel Plaza Boulevard hotels when you add in their resort fees. When you add up the convenience and savings of having an easy breakfast before heading out for the day, and getting a nice snack and a drink or two (or even a light dinner) that’s ready for you and your family when you return from the parks — all free, we think you’ll agree that the value is unmatched.    

Rooms

Spacious king rooms sleep up to 3 people and queen rooms sleep up to 5. Larger 1-bedroom suites can sleep up to 6 people (not including a child in a crib). The 1-bedroom suites feature a separate living room with a pull-out queen sofa sleeper and a private bedroom with two queen beds or one king bed an an additional TV.

FREE Hot Breakfast and More Dining Options

FREE hot and cold breakfast is provided to all guests each morning, and includes scrambled eggs, sausage, fresh fruit, oatmeal, biscuits and gravy, and coffee and juice.

Nightly FREE Kickback, a food and drink happy hour, is available if you just want a small dinner or don’t feel like dining out. This FREE evening snack includes salads, soup and a light entrée such as a penne pasta with pesto or BBQ sliders (see sample menu) and beverages, including sodas, alcoholic beverages (beer, wine & mixed drinks)*, and more.

The Kitchen + Bar in the hotel lobby is open daily for a casual indoor meal, or a quick bite, and offers handcrafted cocktails, carefully selected wines, spirits, and locally sourced craft beers. Guests can dine in or take food and drinks outside to enjoy lakeside views in a covered dining area. 

Lakeside Bar + Grill, a poolside restaurant and full-service bar, features a wide variety of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and wraps, and a kids’ menu. 

Marketplace, the hotel’s gift and sundries shop, also features a coffee shop, pizza from Pizza Hut Express®, beer and wine, grab-and-go food and beverage items and frozen novelties.

Transportation 

Drury Plaza Hotel offers it’s own complimentary shuttle transportation from the hotel to the Walt Disney World Theme Parks and to Disney Springs and Typhoon Lagoon. Shuttle buses run 90 minutes before and after theme parks’ opening and closing times, and two separate routes are available: one to Magic Kingdom and Epcot and one to Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. Magic Kingdom and Epcot shuttles run every hour on the hour and Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios shuttles run every hour on the 1/2 hour.

There are also 2 to 3 daily drop-off and pick-up times at Disney Springs. Shuttles to Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach are offered seasonally.

Self-parking at at the Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando – Disney Springs Area is available for $25 per night plus tax. Self-parking is $15 per night plus tax for MouseSavers guests.  

You Should Know

Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando has a pet-friendly policy for dogs and cats, with a limit of two pets per room. There is a $50 + tax daily fee added for rooms with pets. Of course, service animals are free of charge. Make sure you check the hotel policy for further details.
