Disneyland "Park Exclusive" MerchandiseThere are certain items that are only offered at Disneyland, such as special theme park and resort apparel (including mouse ears) and CDs of the theme park and parade music, including the Haunted Mansion Holiday/Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack. Quite a few enterprising souls have set up companies that buy the items from Disneyland and resell this merchandise over the Internet (both through websites and eBay), usually at inflated prices. Fortunately, it's not necessary to pay through the nose! It's easy to buy "park exclusive" items from Disneyland that you forgot, later wish you had purchased, or just plain can't get to the parks to buy:
Disney Outlet StoresOfficial Walt Disney World Outlets You can get some excellent deals on Disney theme park merchandise at Disney's Character Premier stores near Walt Disney World. These Disney outlets are actually operated by Disney. Unofficial Disneyland & Walt Disney World Outlets There are many outlet stores that sell exclusively (or mainly) Disney items, but are not actually operated by Disney. Some even sell merchandise that comes from the theme parks, because they have a contract with Disney to get rid of surplus theme park items. Two unofficial outlets that are worth checking out because of their proximity to Disney theme parks are:
Disney Store Outlets For a list of brick-and-mortar Disney Store outlets, click here. Thanks to jlsh for info. In addition, there is a Disney Store outlet in Las Americas Premium Outlets in San Diego, which also carries Disneyland Park merchandise. Thanks to Alicia F-Z for info. Other Disney Outlet Store Locations There is a Disney's Character Premier store in St. Augustine, which is convenient if you are driving down I-95 on your way to Walt Disney World. In addition, there are Disney's Character Premier stores in Ft. Lauderdale and Sunrise. As far as I'm aware, all Character Premier stores are operated by Disney. Disney's Character Warehouse stores in Miami and Ft. Myers Florida are apparently also operated by Disney as liquidation outlets for Walt Disney World merchandise. Disney's Character Warehouse outlets in the Western US are operated by AMS, of which three are permanent (Fullerton, CA, Pomona, CA and Las Vegas, NV) but many are temporary locations.
